Rev. Larry and Sonya Marhenke are linguists who are also trained in Bible translation and literacy work. They have been working in Guatemala with the Cunenteco language group in the remote mountains since 1991. God has richly blessed them with completing the New Testament in that language, which was dedicated in March of 2013. They have also produced various literacy materials, calendars, and health booklets for the people there. Thanks to the generosity of their supporters, they had over 60 houses built or repaired for widows and elderly people after Hurricane Mitch in 1998 severely damaged many areas of Central America. The New Testament has also been recorded on audio, the Jesus film has been dubbed into Cunenteco, and hymns have been translated for use in the churches there. In the future, work on a Bible dictionary in Cunenteco has begun, and work on the historical parts of the Old Testament will continue. Please support the project with your prayers and with your gifts.
